Sophie Roy is a painter and photographer based in Canada whose works have been widely exhibited nationally. Through her artistic practice, she seeks to create poetic compositions that are rich in symbolism, evoking emotion, and reflection in the viewer. Roy's central themes are an exploration of nature, living beings, as well as contemporary society. Her pieces fuse both recent and archival photographs digitally, sometimes coupled painterly with painterly techniques using acrylics and ink on canvas.
