Stas Royze strives to capture the creative impulse as something originating from a vacuum. He is interested in the initial action itself, which can be viewed as an indefinite possibility… of creating complete something. In his works, he combines spontaneity and logic, expression, and planning.
At the same time, in his works, he achieves conciseness by combining abstract forms and real images. Combining the lively, unbridled energy of colour, dynamic brushstrokes, and phantom images, Stas Royze tries to know the universe through the process of creativity.

« Art is designed to help people rise above the ordinary. »
Stas Royze is a Russian painter who has exhibited in St. Petersburg and Moscow. One of the main themes in his works is the quest for knowledge beyond ordinary reality, as well as the root causes of the origins of it all. Royze style could be classified as abstract, but he does not limit himself to the rigidity of labels and often combines elements of figurative painting into his works. He works with oils and acrylics on paper or canvas.
