About this artwork
This work depicts an eagle as an archetypal power animal – a symbol of mental clarity, vision, and inner freedom. The eagle's breast is intentionally rendered transparent. Through the feathers, a landscape opens up, connecting the outer world with inner realms. The eagle not only carries the landscape within itself – it is the landscape.
It rests upon an almost organically grown circle of ornamentation that rises like a totem through the center… of the image. In Celtic mythology, the circle represents eternity, cyclical becoming, and the interconnectedness of all things. The ornament interweaves itself as if it were part of an older, deeper order.
The blazing fire leaves permanent lines. It is precisely in this irreversibility that an immediate, profound effect is created.
The eagle does not appear as a hunter, but as a silent witness, watching over the quiet time, over the breath of the trees, the whisper of the lake, and the abundance of life.
