Impressions from my travels, such as the delicate blue of the lavender fields in Provence, bright colors and patterns on fabrics in the markets in Istanbul, the deep, intense blue of the sky and the bright, indescribable green of the meadows in Andalusia - these colors inspire me in my manual prints with ink colors. I dip the colors in Japanese tissue paper and proceed intuitively when I spread the soaked strips onto the backing paper. I can hardly…
wait to put these intense colors on paper over a large area so that they can unfold their full luminosity. The result is often surprising and exciting, so I keep trying out new combinations of colors and shapes.
