This work was created in the series “HOMINIDEA”, which captures apes threatened with extinction on canvas.
This series of works is a criticism of the consumer society and the constant overexploitation that is being committed in the tropical forests.
Although the subject is depressingly serious, this picture also has a positive aura.
The portrait has a critical origin.… But there is always hope and confidence in them. The gorilla is ironically thoughtfully captured on canvas, an expressive monochrome picture with blue.

Stefanie Rogge is a German artist whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. Working in series, her animal portraits are socio-critical in nature. While Rogge's art is a medium of protest, her compositions remain colorful and hopeful. It is her desire to have others rethink their existing values and the consumer behavior of our society.
