About this artwork
The original painting Tiger 10 is an expressive image of a tiger head.
This original painting was created in my studio in Bredenbeck: an expressive work on canvas in ocher mud, black, white
and red.
How did the series “Big Cats” come about?
“March 2nd, 2018 was International Endangered Species Day. This year's aim was to draw attention to the special need for protection of big cats. I got inspired and started a large format series. The lives… of the last free-roaming tigers are still in danger. Tiger products continue to be traded illegally. There is hope in Bhutan, Nepal, India and Russia: the many years of tiger protection work have had an effect. The tigers are slowly breeding again.”
The picture is painted on canvas and stretched on a stretcher frame.
It has a protective varnish against atmospheric agents and dust. It can be hung immediately.

Stefanie Rogge is a German artist whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. Working in series, her animal portraits are socio-critical in nature. While Rogge's art is a medium of protest, her compositions remain colorful and hopeful. It is her desire to have others rethink their existing values and the consumer behavior of our society.
