The original painting 'Tiger 6' is an expressive picture of a tiger head.
This original painting was created in my studio in Bredenbeck: an expressive work on raw canvas in monochrome colors: black, white and red.
How did the series of works “Big Cats” come about?
“On March 2nd, 2018 was the International Day of the Protection of Species. This year's concern was to draw attention to the special need for protection of big cats. I got inspiration… and started a large format series. The lives of the last tigers to live in the wild are still in danger. Tiger products continue to be traded illegally. There is hope in Bhutan, Nepal, India and Russia: the longstanding tiger protection work has shown results. The tigers are slowly reproducing. "
The picture is painted on raw canvas and stretched on a stretcher.
It has a protective varnish against the weather and dust. It can be hung up immediately.

Stefanie Rogge is a German artist whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. Working in series, her animal portraits are socio-critical in nature. While Rogge's art is a medium of protest, her compositions remain colorful and hopeful. It is her desire to have others rethink their existing values and the consumer behavior of our society.
