About this artwork
With this work I wanted to represent the current controversy that has developed around the definition of gender. An aspect of political correctness that is gaining the attention of the media and politics.
In this work, I have partly disturbed the biblical story relating to original sin, putting Eve in a position to question the serpent about his idea of a woman and whether the one he is addressing is one.
The choice to bring the subjects to the… foreground arises from the need to amplify the attention on the dialogue of glances promoted by the protagonists.

Stefano Anselmi primarily uses oil painting, supported by a solid academic background in both art and music, developed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and in the world of opera. His technique leans toward free abstraction, present in the complexity of the fabric of natural things, eschewing a fixed style to experiment with full expressive freedom, guided by intuition and the fusion of visual and musical perception. His works evoke emotional contrasts such as noise and silence, movement and rejection, immersed in a profound sense of space.
