About this artwork
Here is the man, the contemporary man, the naked, fragile, alone man in the midst of the alienated spaces of globalized society. Today man is bombarded with an infinite quantity of inputs, information systems, products: a disorienting tangle that in the work seems to explode in an explosion of blue, a universe into which man falls without brakes. But in an extreme yearning for salvation, some ballpoint pens emerge scattered on the canvas, hit by… white lashes, the color of purity. Feathers are the symbol of human thought, the depth of research and introspection. The artist hands them to us in an act of grace, to slow down our pace and invite us to reflect, to remove for a moment the ferocious dichotomy in which we live: a universe that turns fast and the need to find ourselves in our humanity. The artist declared that this work represents his self-portrait, the face of his inner torments. The work has been exhibited at the Vittoria Colonna Museum and at the MuMi Museum, Italy
« My art is a mirror of contemporary man: the deeper one looks, the more consciousness is stirred. This is where beauty comes from. »
Stefano Di Loreto is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited in prestigious art events nationwide, such as the 57th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2017, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands. Di Loreto uses his art as a tool to raise awareness in society on issues such as climate emergency, pollution, globalization but also to stimulate the human soul to a more interior and profound reflection on time, consciousness and ethics of contemporary man. He has created a unique and recognizable style that he called "Conceptual Deconstruction".
