About this artwork
With this work the artist offers us the fragile features of an over-man: alone, lost in the jaws of an alienating society, which increasingly distances him from himself. He is an exception homo that goes further: he still seeks his purity, he shields himself from the merry-go-round of colors and dazzling lights, begging only for dispersion in a white sea, he is an over-man struggling against a lashing storm of preconceptions, cultures , preconceived… values, frantic products and inputs, blind opinions and judgments, false certainties. Thus, with a touch of red that barely illuminates a milky sea, man defeats even the last conditioned thought, symbolized by that single pen affixed to the canvas like the undress of a mask. Only by virtue of total liberation can man go further, where the beyond himself is a return to his own nature, to a sincere feeling and vitalism, which alone can bring us salvation. It has been exhibited in the Museums: MuMi and of Modern Art V. Colonna, Italy.
« My art is a mirror of contemporary man: the deeper one looks, the more consciousness is stirred. This is where beauty comes from. »
Stefano Di Loreto is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited in prestigious art events nationwide, such as the 57th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2017, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands. Di Loreto uses his art as a tool to raise awareness in society on issues such as climate emergency, pollution, globalization but also to stimulate the human soul to a more interior and profound reflection on time, consciousness and ethics of contemporary man. He has created a unique and recognizable style that he called "Conceptual Deconstruction".
