I discovered this fascinating, funny bird in a documentary about the African continent. A long thought and work process led to this sculpture. The secretary was made from Styrodur using only a saw and knife. His actual feathers were embellished with numerous acrylic pouring elements. He has real feathers on his head.
The secretary is a large species of bird of prey that inhabits large parts of the African continent south of the Sahara. It inhabits… open and semi-open savannah landscapes and feeds primarily on large insects and small mammals, which it kills with kicks with its long legs.
