Hohenstein Castle in the Upper Franconian Ahorn, in the middle of Franconian Switzerland, dates back to a castle complex from the beginning of the 14th century. In 1306 the building was first mentioned as Castrum Hohenstein. After a long and eventful history, the castle became a castle, as it can be admired today.
