About this artwork
"Nebenmusen II" is a finely balanced interplay of reflection and identity dissolution. The female body, in quiet melancholy, confronts the feeling of self-multiplication in times of inner coldness and disorientation.
The body as an echo of itself, with almost marble-like skin reminiscent of classical depictions of the nude, shimmering between subject and reflection, reality and projection. The "secondary muse" in this sense is not the other, but… rather the duplicated, alienated version of one's own source of inspiration.
It is a mirror view of the self, of the origin of artistic creation, of intimacy and the fragmentation of the self; a poetic commentary on the mechanisms of self-observation and the aesthetic construction of bodies.
Fine art pigment print under acrylic glass.
The frame is a slimline frame in gold.
The back of the picture is signed and numbered.
Stephan Joachim works in painting, photography and conceptual art and in the theater as a director, stage and costume designer. He has been taking photographs since he was six years old. In recent years, his work has become more artistic, ushering in a new era of style: his work is influenced by nude elements from fine art. He developed a style that combines photographs with paint, gold leaf, shellac, and more. His themes are rooted in fairy tales and legends, creating captivating artistic expressions. His works touch the heart and capture the emotions of the viewer.
His work was awarded at Best Of Photovogue in 2016 and 2018 and he has participated in many exhibitions (including in Lübeck, Munich and Wiesbaden as well as several times at the ARTe art fairs). He has been published in many program books and in the latest issue of "Normal Magazine".
