About this artwork
In “Resurrection” we encounter the human body as a radically honest cipher of existential transformation.
The depicted figure, stripped of social attributes, rises in an act of physical and spiritual expansion. His back arched, his head thrown back, his arms open—this gesture evokes not only the image of ecstatic devotion, but also a resurrection beyond religious connotations: an individual, carnally located self-transcendence.
It is not Christian… iconography that is referred to here, but an existentialist-contemporary interpretation of rebirth.
The supposed passivity of nudity is counteracted by the visual energy of movement, by breaking out of a rigid form into a moment of becoming.

Stephan Joachim works in painting, photography and conceptual art and in the theater as a director, stage and costume designer.
He has been taking photographs since he was six years old. In recent years, his work has become more artistic, ushering in a new era of style: his work is influenced by nude elements from fine art. He developed a style that combines photographs with paint, gold leaf, shellac, and more.
His themes are rooted in fairy tales and legends, creating captivating artistic expressions.
His works touch the heart and capture the emotions of the viewer.
His work was awarded at Best Of Photovogue in 2016 and 2018 and he has participated in many exhibitions (including in Lübeck, Munich and Wiesbaden as well as several times at the ARTe art fairs).
He has been published in many program books and in the latest issue of "Normal Magazine".
