About this artwork
Stephan Mundi's "Vortex" is a striking example of abstract expressionism. The composition features a vibrant color palette, dominated by bold reds, blues and whites that blend and contrast with each other. The vertical and horizontal lines create a structure reminiscent of an urban landscape, while the intricate shapes and dynamic brushstrokes convey a sense of movement and energy. Particularly striking is the vortex in the upper right corner, which…
captivates the viewer's gaze and creates depth. This painting invites reflection and emotional engagement, depicting the complexity and multiple levels of human emotions and experiences.

« I remain complex and don't want to be put in any category or "drawer". Except a drawer labeled 'Mundi'. »
Stephan Mundi is an artist based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, the United States, and Switzerland. He describes his artistic process as painting expressively to translate mood and thoughts into imagery, "much like a composer captures moods in music". Mundi's striking compositions are the result of continuous experimentation. He primarily creates using acrylics on canvas, cardboard, or paper.
