About this artwork
I simply start painting, without any external trigger. The painting process itself is important in my life. For me, painting is comparable to breathing.
I like to immerse myself in the painting process, much like others dive into a pool. Creating a painting is always an attempt to strike a balance between visualization and reflection of my surroundings, as well as my emotions.
The themes of my work reflect the multitude of daily impressions
of… my life in constant motion.
With only a few interruptions, I am traveling and flooded with new impulses, colors, smells, spaces, people, languages.
When I paint, I feel a sense of great creative freedom and a permanent sense of home—independent of time and place. Just a few weeks ago, I returned from a long trip to Saudi Arabia; today, I'm sitting on a cruise ship off the coast of Cuba.
