About this artwork
This powerful, abstract work pays homage to one of the world's most fascinating ecosystems: the Amazon rainforest. Modeled from a mixture of plaster, water, and pigment, its stone-like surface is reminiscent of ancient walls—carved by rain and teeming with life.
In earthy tones such as moss green, deep blue, black, ochre, yellow and violet, the painting reflects the complex, saturated earth of the rainforest – mysterious, fertile and constantly… changing.
Mushrooms, molded from modeling paste, grow from the surface—symbols of regeneration, decay, and the invisible forces that sustain visible life. Delicate blue paper butterflies rest atop the mushrooms, symbolizing the fragile magic of the Amazon. They remind us how easily the balance can tip—and how precious even the smallest being is in the great cycle of life.
