Breath — The Still Point Between Surrender and Strength
Breath is the fifth painting in my ongoing series The Feminine Wave — a visual meditation on letting go, inner calm, and the quiet resilience found in rest.
A young woman lies upon the surface of the water, eyes closed, her pale rose dress softly tracing the contours of her body. Around her, the lake mirrors a sky washed in tender shades of gold, violet, and blue — a horizon between waking… and dreaming.
Her arms float freely beside her, unrestrained, her entire being suspended in a moment of absolute trust.
It is the breath after struggle. The inhale that follows surrender.
Symbolism — The Language of Water and Air
Water and breath are twin forces of renewal — both invisible, both essential.
In this piece, water becomes a metaphor for emotional weight carried and released; the sky reflected upon it symbolizes expansion and freedom.
She is no longer resisting. She is becoming.
