About this artwork
The support for my paintings is gessoed canvas stretched on wooden stretcher bars. I begin my painting with quick and spontaneous sketching in charcoal which I spray with fixative. I then will reinforce some charcoal lines with black acrylic and paint over some with white acrylic as appropriate. At this point I may begin to add color with pastel or acrylic. The pastel and charcoal are sprayed with fixative while working and ultimately with acrylic…
