Mixed in with bad horror movies, Kahlo colours and contradictory techniques. Sculpture, paint and found object on canvas.

Stephen McGowan is an exciting British painter, sculptor and photographer with national exposure. His work is centered on ideas of identity and representation, delving into anthropology, psychology, literature, cinema, technology, sci-fi and cultural rituals. As a multi-disciplinary creative- McGowan is also an experienced fashion designer, writer and actor- his influences are vast, and his process open and playful. Ultimately, McGowan creates works full of complex combinations of form and content while nonetheless maintaining an impressive visual unity.
