About this artwork
In creating this piece, I was driven by a surge of tranquility and strength, infusing the canvas with vibrant blues and earthy tones. The dynamic forms and textures are a dance of emotion and serenity, an ode to nature's ebb and flow. This painting will bring a powerful, harmonious energy to any space, inviting viewers to lose themselves in its depths.

Stephen Mitchell draws upon symbolist and tonalist influences, using mixed-media techniques to reflect his rich background in storybook illustrations. His style is characterized by spontaneous brushwork and textural layering, adding materials like torn paper and sand, crafting paintings with an organic sense of history. His works evoke an ethereal and melancholic atmosphere, connecting viewers to unseen, poetic realms through visual storytelling.
