About this artwork
A series using uprooted trees in landscape painting as an analogy for the inhumane acts happening in my country (USA) where so-called Ice "agents" are indiscriminately ripping people apart, uprooting them from their lives and families. The twisted, earthly forms embody struggle and resilience, urging one to confront what lies hidden inside, demanding deep reflection and igniting a primal connection to strength emerging from disorder.
The background… of this painting is faux gold leaf paint. The overall painting has a gloss sheen. Like all glossy paintings throughout history, a light reflection or hotspot may be visible from certain angles. I've posted images and a short video of the painting from different angles and light sources to get a feel for this.

« I’m attracted to items built or left by others that weren’t intended to be objects to contemplate. I want to be to art what Robert Frost is to poetry. »
