About this artwork
This piece is about a number of things. First colors, particularly complementary colors. Second, it is a great example of my Gloil process in which I use a specific glue as an underpainting to provide thickness and spontaneity. If you look closely at the flames shooting up, you will see how they extend out three dimensionally and you will see how each flame runs up the board as if it has a life of its own.
