About this artwork
This painting is a part of my “Vessels Series.” While it is intentionally abstract, viewers may instantly recognize the shape of a bowl or jug within the composition. The term “vessel” was deliberately chosen for this series due to its rich and varied meanings. A woman can be a vessel, a spiritual leader can embody this role, and each of us serves as a vessel—holding within us the profound memories and DNA of our ancestors. This artwork invites us… to reflect on these connections, emphasizing the shared journeys and stories we carry.
Stewart Fletcher, a degree-earned artist, specializes in painting, drawing, and printmaking. This master offers sensually expressive depictions of the human body, using deft technique to transcend pure representation and explore deeper symbolism. His work, brimming with dark humour and saturated with colour, taps truths about societal views on femininity. Fletcher captures fleeting moments within his creations, inviting the viewer to sense genuine, plausible motion and feeling.
