About this artwork
This sculpture channels the dynamic spirit of horses, a theme that continually inspires me. I sculpted the head from plaster, drawn to its responsive nature and how it captures both strength and nuance. Head is mounted on wood plaque and painted in cadmium red, a color I associate with vitality and deep emotion.
I see horses as symbols of power, freedom, and sensitivity; by focusing on the head, I aim to highlight their presence and character.… The act of sculpting in plaster allowed me to work intuitively with the form, shaping muscles and contours until I found that balance of energy and calm. The boldness of cadmium red adds a contemporary edge and ensures the piece makes a strong impact in the space. My hope is that this sculpture not only pays tribute to the grace of horses, but also shares my emotional connection to my subject and medium.

Stjepan is a military pilot and master of aeronautical engineering who transitioned into professional sculpting and painting a few years ago. Despite his late start, Stjepan quickly gained recognition for his profound and original work, blending surrealism, abstraction, and expressionism. His "Trinity Vase" was chosen as the top piece by Elle Decoration Netherlands in 2023. Drawing inspiration from his dreams and fantasies, Stjepan's art reflects his inner world, merging technical precision with imaginative freedom. He creates from the heart, viewing art as a deeply personal journey, unbound by traditional exhibitions.
