About this artwork
Essentially, the work is about a wooden egg, one of those used to sew socks.
I cut it into three pieces and put it back together another way.
With this gesture I wanted to transform an everyday object into something more: into a piece of art.
What once served to repair now speaks of memory and transformation.
In its fragmentation, I discovered a new unity, a new way of looking at it. How something broken or divided can acquire a new unity and… a new aesthetic meaning.
I cut it into three pieces and put it back together another way.
