About this artwork
This original square painting of the sea, foam and rocks is a subject that has fascinated the artist all her life. She took some photos of the sea at One Mile Beach in Forster, NSW, on a windy sunny day which were references for this painting. The white foam of the waves was created by sucking up a small amount of a solution of dishwashing liquid and white acrylic painting and blowing it onto the flat canvas to form the white frothy patterns.…

Sue Hill is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Through her art, she explores everyday life in a different light, continuously searching for "something amusing or interesting to focus on". In her artistic process, Hill enjoys the spontaneity and fast-drying qualities of acrylics. However, she finds that oils convey the "most beautiful colors".
