About this artwork
In "Window to a World of Color," I invite you to immerse yourself in a labyrinth of colors and shapes. The geometric rectangles and lines are reminiscent of windows or paths that continually open up new perspectives. For me, they symbolize possibilities and perspectives hidden in the depths of the painting. The vibrant blue, turquoise, and violet tones convey a calm, almost meditative mood, while the warm yellow, orange, and red tones act as radiant… highlights, bringing energy and life. With this work, I wanted to create a sense of balance between structure and freedom—a space in which light, color, and form interact with one another, inviting you to experience your own journey through this world of color. It is my expression of fascination with the interplay of contrasts and harmony.
Art as an expression of courage and new beginnings Susanne Dowden, born in 1966 in Bad Salzuflen, dared to make a bold new start in art after a successful career in business. After working as a hairdresser, industrial clerk, and managing director, she found her true passion in painting in 2020. Her intensive exploration of acrylic paints opened up a new way of expression for her – free, spontaneous, and powerful. In her studio in Emsland, she combines gestural abstraction with geometric clarity. Her works reflect a turbulent biography, characterized by change, new beginnings, and creative freedom. For Susanne Dowden, art is an act of self-realization – far removed from rigid rules, full of emotion and energy. She creates spaces that touch, inspire, and invite one to embark on one's own journey of discovery. Her art represents the courage to continually reinvent oneself.
