About this artwork
Venice, Burano – vibrant, colorful cities that have always fascinated me. My grandfather, the art professor Arthur Ahrens, also worked there for many years. I cut out elements from an etching of Heiligenblut (Carinthia) and incorporated them into the cityscape to create a three-generation image. I think it works well together.
Susanne Fritsch is a painter with a scientific background who specializes in acrylic painting and trained at the European Art Academy in Trier. She uses photographic sources and compositing to transform travel impressions, seascapes, and urban spaces into captivating, richly detailed works – sometimes representational, sometimes abstract. Her artworks radiate a profound fascination with light, color, and the ever-changing nature of the world, inviting viewers to make their own associations and embark on emotional journeys of discovery.
