About this artwork
This image was created from impressions of a multicultural parade in Berlin Kreuzberg. At the so-called Carnival of Cultures, over 5,000 people of diverse ethnicities dance and celebrate peacefully together. This scene depicts a section of this wild activity. I took a lot of photographs during this phase. However, the images I took only served as inspiration. The actual scenes have been distorted or I have interpreted them myself in terms of color…
and composition to depict a mood and dynamic as I perceived them as an individual. In this work, one senses the pulsating life of a festive day. The figures are half abstract, half concrete. The collective euphoria is palpable.
