About this artwork
Picking my way around old alleyways and plots of neglected allotments in the former East Germany, I have felt the echo of voices, the warm earth and smell of ripening apples speaking of communities coming together, children playing and running wild, people trading plants and seeds, sharing coffee and cake in their own personal pavilions. My art painting is the only the record of this past, as this landcape has now dissappeared.

Susie Wright is a London born artist and curator who lives and works in Germany. With environment at the heart of her practice, she uses a range of experimental processes to create her own personal iconography. Using her experience of place and landscape, she weaves concepts together into multi-layered collections. Works on paper, installation, painting and digital drawing, make up her portfolio.
