About this artwork
When I was a child, my favorite time was when my parents sent me to bed. Many children do not like to go to bed in the evening, but it was the beginning of amazing adventures for me! Although my mother called it "bedtime," for me, it was "Dreamtime." ))) In my dreams, I went to distant lands, made friends with the heroes of my favorite books, or was anyone - a dragon, a cat, or Sherlock Holmes. I think I was born a writer)) How many incredible stories… did I come up with as a teenager? Now, I increasingly think about what I would like to do tomorrow before going to sleep )) The time for exciting fantasies is gone, but I still remember the emotions and excitement they caused me.
Born from a book-filled environment, Svetlana Rumak mediates her vision primarily through acrylics, supplemented with pencils, ink, and collages. She's forged an individualistic style, coalescing mixed media techniques within symbolism, a visual narrative reflecting upon womanhood and its many facets. Through her works, she unfolds a "fan of reality", instilling in viewers a profound contemplation on gender roles and spiritual mysticism.
