Through his works, Sylvain Loisan likes to play with the illusion of reality and seeks magic realism in opposition to the ‘naive realism of a single thought’. Loisant has studied science fiction, classical and occult philosophies, as well as religion and metaphysics, which are all interwoven in his compositions. He paints using classical oil techniques, amalgamating many styles which include surrealism, abstract, and naive, under the atmospheric umbrella of ‘magical realism’.
