Sylvaine Catoire is a self-taught French painter who has exhibited her work throughout the country. Working mostly with heavily diluted pigments in successive layers, her works display bursts of coloured light, interesting shapes and structures, blended colours and an intriguing combination of familiar elements and unexpected deconstruction. Her themes vary from the city and silence to nature and the exploration of moving bodies.
