About this artwork
This watercolor depicts a semi-abstract coastal landscape, full of vastness and stillness. The already dark sky is interwoven with delicate pink and orange hues, softly blending like the light just before sunset. Below, a wide space opens up, where the sea and horizon are only suggested, yet remain palpable. In the foreground, the landscape becomes more structured: finely layered areas of color, stronger contrasts, and suggested forms evoke earth…
and coastal plants. Transparent glazes alternate with more pronounced areas, creating depth in an untouched natural landscape. The painting appears serene, open, and yet vibrant, like a moment when the day has long since ended, but its glow still lingers.
