About this artwork
Mountains and waterfalls are timeless. The Chinese Masters taught me how to look at them and paint them.
Painted in my Parisian studio, this painting was inspired by "Mount Huangshan". Hermits, poets and landscape artists fascinated by the mountain landscape emerging from an ocean of clouds, this mountain was a source of inspiration.
I had the opportunity to meet Shi Tao, whose essay "Commentary on the Paintings of the Bitter Gourd Monk" is one… of the most famous works of Chinese literature.
