About this artwork
Seized by the declaration of the so-called Russian-Soviet Ukrainian war on February 20, 2022, I wanted to convey on the web the emotion and the despair that inhabited me, the consequences for the families, the children including the fathers requisitioned are at the front. In this painting the women are seen and grouped together, fleeing their homes with the children in the middle assuming the risks. They reflect the Heart of Ukraine, the children…
follow with their imagination the driving force of the movement, it is these imaginary characters who invite themselves into the canvas. The colors light up the painting like a hymn to life.
