About this artwork
This piece, carved in Italian “Ordinario” marble, reminded him of the whistling or rushing sound made by the wind across the sea. It also has the feeling of a wave motion when it crests. In Carrara Italy, even “Ordinario” marble is prized for its pure white properties. The base is made from the core T Barny drilled out of the block. When I can, I try to make the base match the stone of the sculpture.
