About this artwork
I paint people; I want my paintings to have character that tells a story, but without words, as if through mime. Keep them dramatic, emotional, sometimes theatrical, but always full of feeling and always special.
Unlike many surrealists, who present their dreams,… my work centres on people and bold colours. It opens up new dimensions of art to explore, while my Blue Valentine figures radiate closeness, love, and a sense of safety, and my conspirator characters evoke curiosity. “My subject matter is people, but my real passion is in colour and how the arrangement of colour can produce a different emotional experience of art.”

Ta Byrne is a Thai artist. Her work is known for emotional warmth, gentle humour, and a quietly uplifting sense of human connection. Born in rural Northern Thailand,
she began her art career late, after years working outside creative fields. A spontaneous drawing grew into a full-time painting practice supported by international collectors.
