About this artwork
In blue table by the window, I offer a luminous, deeply poetic exploration of quiet spaces, creative solitude, and the delicate relationship between domestic interiors and the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of Post-Impressionism and the bold color philosophies of the Fauves, I sought to capture the serene yet vibrant essence of a sun-drenched coastal afternoon. This oil on canvas painting centers on a small, elegant dark… blue table placed before a large window. Resting atop the table is a beautifully sculpted white ceramic pitcher, serving as a steady still-life anchor amidst an environment pulsing with light and movement. Framing the scene are grand, flowing curtains patterned with my energetic strokes of blue, yellow, and red. Through the window pane, the view opens up to a tranquil turquoise sea, where a solitary, golden-yellow sailboat glides across the horizon under a soft sky.
Tamara Jare is a self-taught painter who primarily works in oil on canvas, having grown up in her mother’s art studio. She employs post-impressionist and neo-fauvist styles, exploring vivid colors, dynamic brushwork, and references to art history within her portraits, self-portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. Her art radiates a profound sense of wonder, celebrating beauty and light while inviting viewers to experience the miracle she perceives in the world.
