About this artwork
In this work I express that saving the forest should be addressed in every possible way.
The idea is symbolized by the small boat. This painting combines individual components into a larger whole that raises questions, such as the contrast between the man-made (boat) and the natural (trees). Or the contrast between the boat as a symbol of movement/progress and the stones beneath it, representing permanence and stability—but also stagnation. As well… as the interplay between the rooted tree, which stands for home and steadfastness, and the boat as a symbol of travel or even escape. All these opposites work together to question the boundaries of reality.

Tamara Reich is a painter with a degree in fine arts and trained as a gilder. She primarily uses oil paint on unusual surfaces such as wood, paper, sheet metal, gold leaf, and glass, always working in a naturalistic manner. In her scenes, she combines astonishing realism with fantastical motifs that inspire curiosity and astonishment. Her works invite the viewer to pause, marvel, and engage with surprising moments.
