This is a "Bagatelle" version of GIMME SHELTER painting. This painting was inspired by the concept of "Shehinah". Shehinah is the presence of God on Earth and this presence is female. (Hasidic theory).
It started with the image of a wing, then developed through the expression of desire to fly, the need to be free, and a different need, to be loved and protected. These two controversial needs are expressed in this powerful, haunting, moody,mysterious,… and joyful painting.
