About this artwork
A wide lawn has two majestic Gingko trees. Brilliant leaves stream down the branches. Whenever Tamara can, she visits Cheney's Garden in early mornings.
She starts her visit with a few sun salutations under the endless sky. Birds and squirrels are there to keep her company.
First sketches for the “Art as Remedy” project were created from observation on one of these mornings.
The sketch she chose was the one that changed reality the most, by allowing… trees to touch, converse, and heal each other. She used this sketch as a base for a larger painting.
This painting was created in soft pastels and thin layers of acrylic wash on Arches watercolor paper.
It is more abstract than the sketch.
It was important for the artist to create a gentle balance of elements and to fill this piece with healing energy that she feels at Cheney’s Garden.
She truly hopes that the viewers will feel that energy when they stand in front of the painting.
