About this artwork
Abaté has created an abstract encaustic painting that exudes peacefulness and serenity in the cloud-like formations of this calming work.
Using the ancient technique of encaustic, a Greek word meaning “to burn in” Abaté created this image by applying over 25 layers of beeswax. With the heat from a propane torch she allowed shapes to arise organically within specific fields of color and incised the warm beeswax in other areas.
