About this artwork
Boy with double shadow on the beach
Acrylic on wood
In almost all pictures there are tiny figures that seem to be lost in the wide, fantastic landscapes. The viewer perceives these figures as distant beings from another world. They usually come out of their surroundings plastically due to their long shadows, without being able to get really close to them. The viewer gazes into this strange, surreal world as well as his own dreams, which, the… longer they lie, continue to blur. The figures in Tanja Vetter's works also remain at a distance, mysteriously linked to their surroundings.
