Part of the abstract series Visions, this painting reflects the visible and invisible borders that shape our daily lives—those found in communication, human relationships, and physical space—filtered through my Ukrainian background, where the presence of borders is not abstract but deeply lived. The bold confrontation between saturated red and dense black speaks to tension, resilience, and resistance, while the unstable boundary between them suggests… how lines meant to divide often blur, shift, and overlap. Built through multiple layered applications of paint, scraped, pressed, and reworked, the surface holds traces of time, conflict, and memory, mirroring how personal and collective histories accumulate within us.
