Today, many animals are forced to leave their natural habitats, which can in particular contribute to the development of a pandemic.
This painting is inspired by two radically different artists whose work I particularly like. I am inspired by the imagery of Douanier Rousseau and the expressive and materialistic treatment of Anselm Kiefer. I… was very touched by Anselm Kiefer's work on "Secret life of plants".
It was after viewing the recent animal documentary series "Night on Earth" which is told by Samira Wiley and produced by Plimsoll Productions, that I started the painting. The series follows animals that are active at night using advanced low-light camera technology. We learn a lot about the mysterious nightlife of nature.

Tarik Chebli is an up and coming French painter whose work has been exhibited nationally. His acrylic on canvas paintings seem to betray an impulsive handling of materials. Though, upon closer inspection, one can discern tangible subject alive in Cherbli's images. His paintings are heavy with saturated hues, foggy and faded in certain areas then bold and distinct in others.
