About this artwork
In this work I explored how light moves across layered textures — how it settles on warm earth tones, dissolves into soft greys, and then reappears as shimmering golden accents.
While painting, I let the surfaces guide me. The left panel developed a gentle, mist-like softness, where beige, ivory and taupe blend into one another. The right panel formed a stronger contrast — deep charcoal, muted blue-grey, and warm brown emerging through structured… grids and delicate line work. Together they create a dialogue between calm openness and grounded depth, between clarity and mystery.
I used palette knife textures, thin vertical drips, and fine linear marks to build subtle movement inside the composition. The two canvases can be hung close together or spaced slightly apart — the visual flow remains uninterrupted, as if one shared landscape extends through both pieces.
