About this artwork
Through time, the emerald colour has been known as a symbol of truth and love. In ancient Greece and Rome, emerald was said to be the gemstone of the goddess Venus, purveyor of love and hope. On the other side of the world, emeralds were revered by the Incas and believed by the Egyptians to be a source of eternal life.
In my painting, I immerse the viewer in the lush tapestry of nature, highlighted by the vibrant Emerald Toucanet, positioned amid… a spellbinding play of light and shadows. Through my brushes, oils blend in a dance of figurative and impressionist strokes, emphasizing the symbolic connection between the vivid life and the serene, yet ephemeral, environment. This piece radiates meditative tranquillity and a vivid sense of life, bringing a harmonious energy to any space it adorns.
