About this artwork
This photograph is part of my series Art Through Touch, a project about how art is passed from one person to another through the body — through gesture, rhythm, presence, and silent observation.
This image can be read in two different ways. These may be the legs of a young ballerina who has grown up and is entering the studio, stepping into the space where her journey in dance begins. But they may also belong to an adult dancer for whom the time… has come to leave this hall, looking at it one last time as she departs.
For me, this ambiguity is essential. The photograph holds both arrival and departure, beginning and ending, memory and continuation. In this sense, it becomes a culmination of the series: the moment where art, once received, is carried forward — and where touch remains even when the body moves on.
